About your hosts

Greg Lavell

Greg serves as the Artistic Director of Melbourne Unscripted. He’s an actor, director, playwright, composer, pianist and teacher based in Melbourne. 

He recently won a Green Room Award for ‘Outstanding Musical Direction’ for the company’s showcase musical improv hit ‘Cabaret Unscripted’.

Since 2010, Greg has performed, directed and music-directed comedy and theatre productions with ‘Impro Melbourne’, ‘Impromptunes’, ‘The Big Hoo-Haa’ and ‘ The Improv Conspiracy’, as well as performing interstate, and around Europe, teaching and performing improv at festivals.

Greg loves sharing the fun and freedom of improv with newcomers. With an eye for detail, and an insatiable sense of fun, his relaxed and welcoming style is perfect for beginners to improv. His approach to improv is one of freedom and exploration and firmly believes anyone can be a great improviser.

Isabella Valette

Isabella is a multi-talented performer, trained at the prestigious Arts Educational School London. As a singer, dancer, actor, and improviser, she writes and performs critically-acclaimed solo shows featuring hilarious characters, witty original songs, sharp-tongued stand-up, and unforgettable true stories.

Isabella’s star shines brightly as the lead performer in the hit show “Cabaret Unscripted,” which received 5 Judges Picks and a ‘Best Cabaret’ nomination at Melbourne Fringe 2023. Her outstanding performance also earned her a Green Room Award nomination for ‘Outstanding Ensemble.’

With her extensive improv experience, Isabella shares her passion and expertise as a teacher at Melbourne Unscripted. Her engaging and supportive teaching style helps students develop their improv skills and discover their unique creative voices.

Consistently delivering unforgettable performances at festivals and venues around Australia, Isabella’s captivating stage presence, quick wit, and incredible versatility have solidified her position as a rising star in the Australian entertainment industry.
